Form follows function, lets just say that the form of garments that have the function to protect you from a snowstorm (=skying attire) arent as nice
as the ones that dont carry that function. What I like about spring on the other hand is that clothes can be much more about shape and aesthetics,
in spring that jacket doesnt need to be padded, shoes dont need a rubber coating, gloves and hats arent mandatory and thick scarves dont hide nice collars like these.
Im keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will dictate something different than it has during the last 6 months.

Kali Linux Tutorial Find IP Address Of Any Website And Trace Its Location

Welcome back hackers, after a short break today i am here to share with you a new kali tutorial to find the ip address of any website and trace its exact location, i know there is a lot of tutorials to find location of ip address but all of them are really sucks, means they only give us only country details or sometimes shows random places for an ip, and if you want to know the exact location of a website then you need a search warrant but here i will demonstrate you how to find the ip address of any website and how to know its exact location without any search warrant or subpoena.

IP address, hope you all know what is IP. In this tutorial first we need to find the ip address of website in order to trace the location, without ip there is no way to find the location so for this purpose we will use Maltego information gathering tool and it is pre-installed in our favorite Kali Linux.

Maltego is popular information gathering tool but it will not show us the exact place of website, so we will use MaxMind database to find the location. MaxMind is company maintaining a database of the locations of every ip address in the world and their location status includes GPS coordinates, area code, zip code and country. MaxMind software is little expensive but the good news is they are also providing a free developers version of this database without any softwares or tools to read it.

Pygeoip, is a small python script we are also using in this tutorial. It is developed by two programmers named Jennifer Ennis and T.Williams and it is released under GPL license that enables us to input an ip address and output this critical information.

How to find the ip address with maltego

Maltego, is an open source intelligence and forensics application. This is a GUI tool so looks different. Maltego is an information gathering tool that allows you to visually see relationships and it focuses on providing a library of transforms for discovery of data from open sources, and visualizing that information in a graph format, suitable for link analysis and data mining.

Maltego allows you to enumerate network and domain information like Domain Names, Whois Information, DNS Names, Netblocks, IP Addresses etc

Maltego also allows you to enumerate People information like:

Email addresses associated with a person’s name
Web sites associated with a person’s name
Phone numbers associated with a person’s name
Social groups that are associated with a person’s name
Companies and organizations associated with a person’s name etc

Tracing the exact location of website

Step 1: Boot Kali Linux and open up a terminal

First of all run our favorite Kali system and open up a new terminal.

If you are new to kali linux then i recommend you to read my older post about kali linux and will guide you through the installation process and also it will also teach you the kali basics: An Introduction To Hacker’s OS: Kali Linux Setup Tutorial

Step 2: Download MaxMind database

Now we need to download the database from MaxMind, and we can get it by typing the following.

wget -N -q http://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database/GeoLiteCity.dat.gz

Then we need to unzip it.

gzip -d GeoLiteCity.dat.gz

Lets now check that the database is in place by listing the directory.

ls -alh GeoLiteCity.dat

Step 3: Download & Install Pygeoip

Next, we need to install the Python script to read the database, pygeoip. We can download it by typing the following.

wget http://pygeoip.googlecode.com/files/pygeoip-0.1.3.zip

Then, unzip it.

unzip pygeoip-0.1.3.zip

We next need to download some setup tools into the pygeoip directory.

cd pygeoip-0.1.3
wget http://svn.python.org/projects/sandbox/trunk/setuptools/ez_setup.py

Now type following:

wget https://pypi.python.org/packages/2.5/s/setuptools/setuptools-0.6c11-py2.5.egg#md5=64c94f3bf7a72a13ec83e0b24f2749b2

Lets now move and then build and install the setup tools.

mv setuptools-0.6c11-py2.5.egg setuptools-0.7a1-py2.5.egg
python setup.py build

Next type:

python setup.py install

We need to move the database to the pygeoip directory so that script can access it without having to use the full path.

cd
mv GeoLiteCity.dat /pygeoip-0.1.3

Step 4: Query the Database

Now that we have the database in place and the pygeoip script downloaded and installed, we can begin to query that database with pygeoip.

First, we need to start a Python shell.

python

Then, you will be greeted will the triple >>> indicating you are now in an interactive python shell. Lets import the module and instantiate the class.

>>> import pygeoip>>> gip = pygeopip.GeoIP(GeoLiteCity.dat)

Next, we are ready to begin our query. Lets see where Google is located.

>>> rec = gip.record_by_addr(64.233.161.99)
>>> for key,val in rec.items():
... print "%s: %s" %(key,val)
...

Please note that it is critical to indent the "print". If not, you will throw an error.

As you can see, we were able to locate Googles IP in Mountain View, CA at area code 650, postal code 94043, longitude -122.0574, and latitude 37.4192. Not bad!.

Once again, the combination of the database and pygeoip script was able to provide us with key location information on CNNs IP address.

This little tool is great for locating any IP address in the world, albeit, it is a bit clunky. Maybe someone here in the Null Byte community with good Python skills would like to write an interactive script with a nice user interface where the user can simply enter the IP and get the record information?. Knowledge Management in the age of Social Media

Last week Dinesh, Nikhil and I encountered the second stage of our social business journey at ThoughtWorks. Over the week, we had a few conversations with other ThoughtWorkers focussing on one common question, "Where do I put x?". While our platform itself places no restrictions on where users can post content and while we have a really powerful search engine, the mental model of folders to place your information is still prevalent. Its been about four years since I last created a very structured folder system on my computer. Today I just save files where I please and then let Spotlight or Quicksilver find the files for me when I need them. Coming back to our social business platform though, the primary driver for this initiative was to answer a long standing knowledge management challenge at ThoughtWorks. Our aim at least when we started off, was to map our organisational capabilities and make them explicit for the average ThoughtWorker. While social media seems to have lowered the barrier for content creation and sharing considerably, theres a separate question about structure that we need to answer. How does the traditional world view of knowledge management fit in the world of social business?

Prescriptive Structure Leads to Empty or Neglected Containers
Useful content doesnt come up by magic. Content also doesnt come up as a result of an imposed structure. Content arrives on platforms because some people feel a strong ownership for it and believe that theres value in sharing it. Over a period of time they use metadata such as tags, ratings and comments to provide a layer of information and commentary to the content. Given a reasonable amount of time, the structure for all the content on the platorm starts to emerge. Tag clouds help create a map for users so they can browse through the content. Search engines start throwing intelligent results for searches. User commentary, ratings and flags provide a layer of quality control over the content, helping all members of the community find the best content for the purpose. This is the phenonmenon of emergent structure that Andrew McAfee has spoken about in his book - Enterprise 2.0. The key however is in understanding that while content is valuable, context is significantly more precious. To know your colleague who wrote that phenomenal blogpost, to be able to see how people used her ideas, to be able to look at the other contributions by this user, etc are a generative side to the knowledge management puzzle. Its a side that opens up possibilities for serendipity which traditional content focussed approaches are unlikely to achieve.

No Structure is a One-Size-Fits-All

The same presentation that I upload to a conferences space could be the one you look for in the technology space. While I like a Twitter style approach to finding interesting content, you may prefer a Digg style model. While one person may choose a communities of practice model to personal learning, another person may just look for a more structured sitemap/ folder approach. Regardless of which approach you choose, youre likely to marginalise a certain group of people. The modern internet has given us so many options that were almost spoilt for choice and everyone looks at stuff differently. The key is to give people a way to personalise their knowledge intake in a way that suits them. Flexible consumption is the need of the hour.

Personal Knowledge Management and Sense Making is the Key

The modern workplace requires modern skills. While its all too well to complain about chaos and information overload, a key skill in this age, is the ability to set up filters that help you make sense of everything. As Clay Shirky explains in the above talk, its not really information overload - its filter failure. People also need to be comfortable with missing stuff. If things are really important, theyll come to you. Others will repost it, therell be heavy discussion and the content will rise in popularity. A huge part of the information overload complaint also has to do with the gluttony and greed to be on top of everything. Managing digital knowledge that matters to you, requires deliberate practice. Harold Jarche calls this the practice of personal knowledge management. Knowledge workers need to develop the skills to connect with others, exchange ideas and to contribute effectively to a knowledge collective. This requires inward facing categorising and sorting skills to deal with the flow of information. Organisations need to support knowledge workers through the journey of learning these skills, since its crucial to their own success. The role of the knowledge management organisation then perhaps shifts to a higher touch, personal productivity consulting role. Over a period of time knowledge managers need to move into community facilitation roles because the traditional responsibilities of uploading documents to repositories will no longer exist. The only structure thats likely to make sense, is self selected structure.

Kathmandu Airport ranked one of the worst in the world

A recent survey released by the website sleepinginairports.net said Tribhuvan International Airport secured the title of the tenth worst airport in the world.
“TIA is the only airport in South Asia, which made it to the list of 10 of the world’s worst airports.”
Only two airports — TIA and Uzbekistan’s Tashkent International Airport — from Asia have secured their places in the list of 10 worst airports.

The ranking is based on overall airport experience, as determined by voters in a 2016 airport survey.
According to a survey, TIA’s domestic terminal is dirty. The toilets are smelly and should be ‘avoided until absolutely necessary’. “Signage and food options are inadequate, and the staff do little to help,” it said.
Couple this with long immigration lines and multiple annoying checkpoints at the international terminal, and you’re bound to have some unhappy travellers, the survey revealed.
The website, however, noted the country’s main gateway had made some improvements at the international terminal. “Kathmandu’s International Airport continues to struggle, though we feel it is important to recognise the devastation that occurred in Nepal in 2015,” said the website.

“Small improvements have definitely been made at the international terminal in the years since. However, if you’re traveling domestic, be prepared for crowds and chaos.”

Despite spending millions on expansion and rehabilitation, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has failed to identify the needs of air travellers, according to users.
Travellers were asked to judge facilities in different categories such as comfort, services, facilities and things to do, food options, immigration/security, customer service and cleanliness, says the website.
TIA Spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur rejected the survey’s findings. “TIA authority is doing its best to ensure quality service,” he said, adding that the survey was one-sided and baseless.
One of the reviewers mentioned in the survey that the airport was a literal high security goat farm and services were intolerable. “My companion and I were almost forced to bribe customs and check-in as there were at least five checkpoints to get to the gate. Customs was a nightmare and we waited in line for at least an hour.”
Almost topping the list of the world’s worst airports last year, TIA had ranked the third worst in the world in 2014, holding on to the same spot as in 2013.

1. You choose an intention. “I want ____________.”

E.g. I want a new red car. Thoughts will line up like this: I deserve it. I will care for it. I will enjoy it everyday. I can feel it.

2. After making choice of that intention, you focus on that the whole day.

3. Converge all your senses to visualise: how will you feel? what will it look, smell, feel and taste like? what emotions and thought and experiences will you be having? The more you focus the more power it will have.

4. Again and again bring your mind back to your intention all day.

Very sooner this will become your new habit of thoughts. No sooner you will see the fruits of your thoughts.

Common Problems and Solutions

Fixative attitude towards Past or Present Situations.And to do away with it you need to change your thought pattern and habit. You need to move on! You need to question your goal.

The best help would come as meditation for 5 to 20 minutes a few times everyday.

Sharpen your thought process and take care of sleeping habits and food habits too. Keep faith on your positive vibes and energy and everything will seem rewarding for you. Good thoughts will make you know how important you are and the importance of your emotions, ideas and success

Dick Smith was once king of the April Fools pranks. Remember the day he hoodwinked Australia with a sheet of white plastic and a mountain of foam? Pictures taken that rainy, misty Saturday morning almost exactly 25 years ago show Dick Smith, looking like Austin Powers, smiling cheesily and giving a big wave to the camera. No wonder.
In a clever piece of self-promotion, the budding 34-year-old electronics entrepreneur had just pulled off what has recently been nominated one of the most imaginative April Fools pranks: the great Sydney Harbour iceberg hoax.

Whats more, it cost him only $1200, for the hire of a barge, and the purchase of a big sheet of white plastic and lashings of fire-fighting foam. Several dozen cans of shaving cream - used to complete the Dickenberg One, as it was dubbed - had been provided free by a manufacturer. "The funny thing was that for months Id been planning to go down to Antarctica and tow some real icebergs back," Mr Smith recalled this week. "We were going to do experiments and see if they could be used to provide fresh water for places such as Adelaide. "The media were always on to me. When am I going to do it? Anyway, someone on my staff came and said, Well, why dont we just fake one for April Fools Day? So thats what we did.

"On the Friday I announced that the iceberg would be arriving some time in the next week - to say it was coming the following day [April Fools] would have given the game away." At 3am a fellow inventor and collaborator, Hans Tholstrup, towed the barge out through the Heads, and, secretly under cover of darkness, the iceberg was built. Two hours later, as Mr Smith boarded the iceberg, 300 of his employees started ringing local radio stations and newspapers. "Whats that thing coming through the heads? they asked. It looks like an iceberg."Smith still chuckles at the reaction. "Switchboards were jammed and by the time we towed the barge in the headlands were covered with people. The navy even rang to offer us somewhere to moor."

In retrospect, the prank looks amateurish. Though Mr Smith was approached by boats demanding chunks of ice, or "Dicksicles" as they were called, within hours driving rain had "melted" much of the foam and cream. Perhaps you had to be there. Alex Boese, an American specialist in pop culture was not, but he is still impressed. This month he placed The Great Sydney Harbour Iceberg at number 12 in his top 100 list of April Fools Day pranks and practical jokes and included it in his new book, Museum of Hoaxes. "Yeah, it was a good one," says Boese, who insists that, while the world may seem a gloomy, unfunny place right now, we are living in a golden age of hoaxes. Quite when April Fools Day - which falls on Tuesday this year - began is in dispute. Some experts trace it back to Roman times, others to the adoption of the Gregorian calendar in the 16th century.

Some jokes - such as sending an apprentice out to buy striped paint, ringing the zoo to speak to Mr C. Lyon and, in France, taping a paper fish (the poisson davril) to the back of a friend - have become April Fools traditions, and were long ago played out through the media long ago. Inevitably, some April Fools are simply not funny, some are downright irritating and a few cause embarrassment and even panic. A report of killer wasps attacking Auckland alarmed residents. A story that Canadas finance minister was quitting to breed cattle sent the dollar plunging. In 1995 the Salvation Army in Australia was forced to pulp 20,000 copies of its weekly newspaper War Cry after editors belatedly decided that an April Fools Day joke that John Howard had abolished Easter holidays was in bad taste.

Over the years the ABC has broadcast several spoof stories about such things as the Dylofish rod (see panel), mining at Uluru, and plans by Australia to adopt metric time whereby the 12-hour clock would be divided into 10. But Dick Smith - who later introduced the microdot Pric (a PRinted Integrated Circuit that when attached to speakers and doused with lemon juice became a radio) and had double-decker buses jump over motorcycles in a reverse of Evel Knievel - fears that we may have lost our sense of fun. That, or the world has - temporarily at least - become such a confusing place that we can no longer work out what is fact, what is fiction, what we can laugh at, and what we cant.
