Before everyone and their mother decided it would be clever to do brackets for meaningless things, not related to Mens College Basketball this time of year, we had this thing called March Music Madness. The interface wasnt spectacular, it was hard as hell to seed, and impossible to get in everyone that you wanted to. This year, one of the folks that I would have pushed to be in that field of 64 would have been Kishi Bashi, whose pop music seems to fling itself between the poles of experimental and transcendent as easily as anything Ive ever heard. "Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!" is our first taste of  Lightght (out on Joyful Noise, which has a pretty rippin hand-numbered vinyl), Bashis second album. You can feel a bit of the of Montreal influence here as Bashis pop sensibilities take flight in this delightful and buoyant track which will be sure to slap a smile on your face, even if your team loses.

His new single "Delusional" and its accompanying video are a perfect example of how a rapper from a completely different era can stay relevant not by catering their sound to a certain audience or trend, but by just being true to their self.  Kurious has always had an ability to mix humor, honesty, and slick observations to create multidimensional songs that you can keep coming back to and "Delusional" is no exception.  His songs have always been visual, but to this point hes never had a video do one justice.  Thats not the case here as Kuriouss head is completely removed from his body, matching his unhinged delivery perfectly.  His music has always had a tinge of psychedelia and the video does a great job capturing the schizophrenic nature of his verses.
