Kahani 2 is being released today and with this we at CRB Tech Reviews bring the story of Kahani 2. Vidya Balan is a scene stealer while Arjun Rampal’s performance stays with you. Durga Rani Singh has no connection with the first instalment of Kahani except that the role is being played by Vidya Balan. The film is both scripted and directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Kahaani, when got released in 2012 came up a surprise success at the box office. The film was one of the biggest hits of the year. As time passed, the movie gathered a cult following. 

Kahani 2 story ia about a mother named Vidya Sinha who’s living a middle class life with her paralysed daughter Mini Sinha. Her goal in life is to take her daughter to US for treatment and give her a better life. Unfortunately her daughter gets kidnapped and before Vidya could find her, she meets with an accident. Sub-inspector Inderjeet Singh who is given the responsibility of investigating the case, recognises her as Durga Rani Singh, a wanted criminal for kidnapping and murder. 

During the investigation Inder finds Vidya’s personal diary and many revelations are made there about Vidya Sinha, Durga Rani Singh, Mini Sinha and even the sub-inspector.

Child abuse has been dealt with a good maturity in the film that it educates you and makes you uncomfortable, at the same time. Applause to Sujoy Ghosh.

The film’s first half in specific, is one of the best in recent times, as far as thrill factor is concerned. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. 

When the first part left you on a high note, the second half stumbles along the way. The film’s promotion was solely done based on the mystery behind Vidya Sinha’s identity. But with its revelation in the first part, leaves nothing mush to wait except watch the performance of its cast and the amazing direction of Sujoy Ghosh. Also, the motive behind kidnapping is plain bland. The background score is underwhelming.

Go and watch the performances of Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal. I have a special love for all Vidya and Arjun Rampal movies respectively. And it’s amazing narrative by Sujoy Ghosh. This will surely keep you hooked the minutes there.
